Training and increasing national content are also important issues that need to be addressed. To this end, GPRs local Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs on the EGTL project were centered on a philosophy of sponsoring Education Empowerment:
GPS places paramount importance on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment at all times. In that regard, our objective is to prevent occupational accidents, injuries, and illness. Global Petroleum Resources accepts its responsibility to lead in the promotion and practice of its health, safety, and environmental policies. These policies aim for zero accidents, zero incidents, zero waste, and minimal pollution.
We will adapt our logistics, operations, contracts, and HSE procedures to meet the needs of the project and client. GPR will also liaise closely with our subcontractors and overseas offices for the duration of the work scope. Our HSE procedures and Drug & Alcohol policies are listed in Appendix D. This is key to maintaining accident-free operations and the protection of life and property. The criticality of adherence to HSE Policies, Procedures, and Behavioral Philosophy on site cannot be over-emphasized! Incentive programs are routinely run on-site to encourage personnel to demonstrate optimal HSE requirements and behavior. There are many means of measuring the leading indicators that culminate in serious accidents. We arrest the situations at the base of the incident pyramid and lessons learned are translated into the fortification of our procedures.
